The Guelph Y is committed to quality and convenient swimming programs for all ages and all members. Every Guelph Y member has the access to the pool and various swimming programs, which are included in their membership. The Guelph Y pool is a welcoming and positive environment that focuses on enhancing every individual’s skill. Our pool programming has a strong emphasis on strengthening the relationship between participant and instructor.

0 to 5 Years Old |
- Children under the age of 6 years must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. Adults must be within arms reach of the child at all times.
- One adult may swim with a maximum of two non-swimmers at one time or four children if they are all wearing life jackets
- The adult is not required to be a member or purchase a day pass. Any Additional adults must purchase a day pass. Government issued ID is required to sign in and out
- Children who are not toilet trained must have a swim diaper on when in the pool

6 to 9 Years Old |

Children age 6-9 may use the pool independently after successfully completing the Guelph Y’s swim admission test. Swim admission tests are administered upon arrival for each swim, and must be completed each visit. A responsible adult must accompany the child to the Guelph Y and be present on the pool deck to supervise the child at all times during their swim.

If a child does not successfully complete the swim admission test, their supervising adult must accompany them into the water and stay within arms reach of the child at all times. Swimmers will be welcome to swim in the shallow area of the pool with a guardian.

One adult may swim with a maximum of two non-swimmers at one time. Adults may supervise up to four non-swimmers if all swimmers wear lifejackets for the duration of their swim.

Supervising adults do not need a membership or day pass to attend with their swimmer. Additional adults will need to purchase a day pass if they are not a member. Government issued ID is required to sign into and out of the facility for Child Protection.

10 to 15 Years Old |
- Youth ages 10 years or older may use the pool independently
- They may sign themselves into the building and use the change room independently
- A Guelph Y's swim admission test must be completed to access the deep end of the pool
- If they are not able to complete the Guelph Y's swim admission test successfully they will be required to stay in the shallow end
