The Guelph Y recognizes its responsibility to promote a safe environment and practices to protect children and vulnerable persons. Our entire team at the Guelph Y shares this responsibility. Our implemented Child Protection Policy is the platform that we work from and we are continuously ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed.
What does this mean for you?
Members
Every member must bring their photo membership card to gain access to the facility.
Non-Members
All non-members must show government issued photo identification in order to be signed in as a visitor and given a visitor badge to wear during your stay.
Child Members, ages 0-9 years
Land Programs
- Children ages 0 to 9 years must be signed in and out of land programming by a responsible adult.
- If your child is a member and you (the parent/guardian) are a non-member, we will provide you with an access card. This will allow you to enter program areas for signing your child in and out only.
Pool Programs
- Children ages 0 to 9 years must be signed into their swimming lesson on the pool deck by a responsible adult.
- Children ages 0 to 5 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is within view of the pool during swim lessons.
Youth Members, ages 10-12 years
Youth ages 10 to 12 years may access youth programming independently.
