Aquatics Access Policies

To ensure fair and safe access for all our members, we have the following policies and procedures in place.

1. Facility and Changeroom Access

Members with reservations for aquatics programs will be greeted at the entrance by a screener 10 minutes before their program start time and permitted access to the facility after successfully completing the screening process. After their program ends, members will have 10 minutes to change and safely exit the facility. Access to the facility earlier than 10 minutes prior to your program or longer than 10 minutes after your program will not be permitted while facility capacities are in place.

2. Late Arrivals Policy: 5 minute Grace Period
Members with reservations are granted a 5 minute grace period from the start of their reservation to arrive for their swim. Make sure to arrive on time to ensure your reserved space is available to you! Reservations are considered forfeited at the end of the grace period, and the space will be offered to other members at this time. Late arrivals may not be able to swim in their reserved space, or may not be able to enter the pool.

3. Reservation Limits

Members can book up to a maximum of:

  • 1 water program per day (i.e. Aquafit OR Lane Swim OR Adult Recreation Swim)
  • 4 leisure or fitness swims each week (Leisure and Fitness swims include: Lane Swim, Adult Recreation Swim, Open Swim, Preschool Swim)
  • 2 Aquafit classes each week (Regardless of Depth)

The limits above apply to reservations made in advance. Members can attend additional programs beyond these limits if there is space available by making a last-minute reservation - within 2 hours of the program start time.

4. Walk-In Reservation Policy
Reservations are required for access to the pool area. You can stop by the Self-Serve station in the lobby or visit Member Services to make a last-minute reservation to swim if there is an open space.

A ‘Walk-Ins’ line may be available for you to wait in if a program is full, depending on the public health restrictions in place at the time, and if/when a space becomes available it will be offered to the next person in this walk-ins line.

5. Reservation Opening Times

Programs open for reservations 7 days in advance at 8:00am through our Member Portal.

Aquafit Programs

Reservations through your Member Portal are required to reserve a space in these classes. Reservations should be made according to the depth you would like to participate in.

Deep Water Aquafit

Get stronger and healthier without the impact to your joints. Exercise with like minded individuals to motivating music. Flotation belts will be worn during this class.

Holiday Aquafit

Join the fun in this low-impact workout intensified by the water's resistance factor. The class includes cardio, resistance, and flexibility. Offered specifically during the holidays.

Shallow Water Aquafit

Join the fun in this low-impact workout intensified by the water's resistance factor. Classes include cardio, resistance and flexibility.

Water Strength and Mobility

Work out with a certified personal trainer specializing in post rehab aquatic exercise. Improve your stamina, mobility and balance. Learn how to use the properties of water so you can continue to effectively exercise in the pool on your own.

Adult Drop-in Swimming

Open Swim, all ages

This is a recreational swim for members of all ages. Pool admission standards apply.

Lane Swim, ages 13 and older

This swim is open for members who wish to swim lengths of the pool as a means of working on their strokes and fitness. One or more lanes will be available as indicated on your Member Portal. To ensure physical distancing, we currently have a maximum of one swimmer per lane.

Adult Recreation Swim, 13+

This is a recreational swim for members 13 and older. A section of shallow water will be available for recreation and fitness purposes. This swim is a great time to work on personal exercise routines or spend some time floating in the pool. Access to the “bubble pool” seating area is available during this swim.

Adult and Teen Lessons, ages 13 years and older

With the current limitations in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our swim lesson programming is on pause. We are looking forward to being able to offer lessons again as our region makes its way through the colour zones of the provincial pandemic framework.

Our swim lessons page will be updated once our lessons are scheduled to resume, and we will send out a member communication email with any details about our program offerings. Make sure we have your email on file to ensure you receive any email updates!

Drop-in Adult and teen swim lessons are available for all skill levels and interests. Instructors will help you to set and achieve your goals!
